Danny Weis (pronounced /wiːs/; born September 28, 1948, in Huntington Park, California) is an American guitarist, best known as a founding member of both Iron Butterfly and Rhinoceros, as well as co-writer of Rhinoceros's only charting single, "Apricot Brandy".
Danny Weis received Platinum and Gold Albums for his work as Bandleader and Guitarist in the Academy Award nominated movie “The Rose” with Bette Midler. Danny’s unique, funky, rhythmic playing style has made him an often imitated, but never duplicated artist and performer.

These early influences formed the foundation of Danny’s strong sense of melody, bluesy lines, and the unique funky rhythmic style that define his trademark guitar sound. Danny joined his first band at age 13, taught guitar at 16, and by the age of 18, had co-founded the 1960’s group, Iron Butterfly.
