Darla Jean Hood (November 8, 1931 – June 13, 1979) was an American child actress, best known as the leading lady in the Our Gang series from 1935 to 1941. She was born in Leedey, Oklahoma, the only child of music teacher Elizabeth Davner, and James Claude Hood, who worked in a bank.
Darla Hood was a child actress who starred in 51 "Our Gang" shorts and one feature film. She also sang, did voice-overs and appeared on TV shows, but died of heart failure in 1979 at age 47.

Born and raised in Oklahoma, she began learning singing and dancing at a tender age. At the age of 3, her singing talent helped her earn a screen test.
