The Way Ahead ist ein im Zweiten Weltkrieg spielendes, britisches Militär- und Wehrertüchtigungsdrama aus dem Jahr 1944 von Carol Reed mit David Niven in der Hauptrolle. Der Film wurde von Premierminister Winston Churchill gegenüber Hauptdarsteller Niven persönlich angeregt, um die Moral der Truppen für die anstehenden Kämpfe auf dem europäischen Kontinent zu erhöhen.
David Niven claims that he was born in March 1909, in Kirriemuir, in the county of Angus in Scotland. But his birth certificate says something completely different. The date was 1910 and the location was Belgrave Mansions, Grosvenor Gardens in London. Both sound pretty fancy to me, but Niven's origin story involved another—even greater—mystery.
