David Murray Oates (3 April 1946 – 15 January 1992), known as Dee Murray, was an English bass guitarist. He was best known for his long-time collaboration with Elton John as a member of the Elton John Band.
Dee Murray, eigentlich David Murray Oates, (* 3. April 1946 in Gillingham, Kent; † 15. Januar 1992 in Nashville, Tennessee) war ein britischer Bassist, der insbesondere als Mitglied der Elton-John-Band Bekanntheit erreichte.
The band was originally formed by John in 1970 as a trio, consisting of himself, drummer Olsson, and bassist Dee Murray. They first appeared together on disc with John on the album Tumbleweed Connection , which was released that same year.
