Diary of the Dead. Eine Gruppe junger Filmstudenten dreht einen Horrorfilm, als die Toten tatsächlich erwachen. In Regisseur George A. Romeros Film sind auch Simon Pegg, Stephen King und Quentin Tarantino zu hören.
Diary of the Dead ist ein netter Zombiefilm für zwischendurch wobei die Wackelkamera nicht so stört wie befürchtet. Das eigentliche Problem ist ja, eigentliche wird dieser Spezieller Kamerastil benutzt um die ganze Situation beklemmender wirken zu lassen, aber dafür passiert eigentlich zu wenig. Vielmer wirkt alles wie ein Dokumentarfilm, wenn auch ein sehr unterhaltsamer.
Diary of the Dead ist heute auf Platz 8591 in den täglichen JustWatch Streaming-Charts. Der Film ist seit gestern in den Charts 7818 Plätze nach oben gerückt. In Deutschland ist er derzeit beliebter als Angels' Share - Ein Schluck für die Engel, aber weniger beliebt als Meine Freundin Volker.

Stylistically as well as narrative similarities are evident between DOTD and "The Blair Witch Project" however it is more closely aligned with the social commentary and thematic depth of "Citizen Kane."
