We are sad to report the death of the legendary Dik Mik who was the keyboard warrior in the classic Hawkwind and whose swooshes of noise not only opened up new constellations of sound but made him inaverdently one of the key musicians of his time.

Dik Mik had left the band, replaced by sound engineer Del Dettmar, but chose to return for this album, thus giving the band two electronics players. Bass player Dave Anderson , who had been in the German band Amon Düül II , had also joined and played on the album, but departed before its release because of personal tensions with some other members of the band. 16. Nov. 2017 · Hawkwind have confirmed that their former synth player and keyboardist Michael ‘DikMik’ Davies has died. Davies was brought into the band by his friend and band leader Dave Brock shortly after Hawkwind’s formation in 1969.
