Dorothea Nancy Waddingham was executed by hanging in Birmingham, England, on April 16, 1938. Waddingham was convicted of killed nursing home patients with morphine for inheritance.
Dorothea Waddingham murdered Louisa Baguley 89 and Ada Baguley 50 by poisoning them with morphine at 32 Devon Drive, Nottingham. Dorothea Waddingham ran an unlicenced nursing home which she had converted from her own home and was not a qualified nurse although this was not illegal.
According to Dorothea Ada was depressed and in great pain so she had given her up to ten tablets over two days and in the early hours of the Wednesday morning found her in a coma. This information was contained in a statement made to the police on the 24th of September, after the post mortem result was known.
