Dovima war ein US-amerikanisches Fotomodell. In den 1950er Jahren gehörte sie neben Lisa Fonssagrives, Sonny Harnett, Dorian Leigh, Suzy Parker und Jean Patchett zu den bekanntesten und bestverdienenden weiblichen Models.
Dovima was born Dorothy Virginia Margaret Juba in Queens, New York, to Stanley Juba, a Polish-American policeman who was born to Jewish parents; [1] and Margaret J. "Peggy" Horan, who was born in Ireland. She had a younger brother, Stanley Jr. [2] The name "Dovima" is composed of the first two letters of her three given names.

In less than one year, Dovima became the highest-paid model of her time; she commanded $60 per hour when most of the top models were receiving anything up to $25 per hour.
Dovima sadly lost her battle with liver cancer at the young age of 62, ending her life and career. But her legacy endures, as seen by the innumerable fashion campaigns and photo shoots where her distinct beauty and refined sense of style continue to inspire models and photographers.
