  6. Vor 5 Tagen · The Crown sold the manor in 1553 to Sir Anthony Hungerford of Down Ampney. It had passed by 1561 to his son Henry Hungerford (d. 1580), who was succeeded by his son Anthony.

In 1623 Hungerford sold Ashton Keynes but retained Leigh as part of a larger estate centred on Down Ampney (Glos.), which included lands once belonging to Great Chelworth manor, Cricklade parish. (fn. 44) What remained of Leigh manor in 1803 was put up for sale in lots, after which the manorial title descended with a much reduced estate.
