Okt. 2023 · Drew Weissman, an immunologist at UPenn, is one of the two laureates of the 2023 Nobel Prize in Physiology or Medicine for discoveries that enabled the development of mRNA vaccines against COVID-19. He and his co-laureate Katalin Karikó, a biochemist at Szeged University, found a way to deliver mRNA into cells without triggering an unwanted immune response.
Drew Weissman is a world-renowned physician and researcher at Penn Medicine, best known for his contributions to RNA biology and the COVID-19 vaccines.
