Duets is a compilation album by Kenny Rogers released in 1984 by Liberty Records, issued after Rogers left the label and signed to RCA Records. The song " Together Again ", a duet with Dottie West was released as a single from this album and reached No. 19 on the US country chart and No. 29 in Canada.

In her breakthrough year, 1980, Carnes was commissioned by Kenny Rogers to co-write the songs for his concept album Gideon (1980), and their duet "Don't Fall in Love with a Dreamer" hit No. 4 on the Billboard Hot 100, and earned the duo a Grammy Award nomination.
"Make No Mistake, He's Mine" is a song written by Kim Carnes, recorded as a duet with Barbra Streisand in 1984. The duet was subsequently recorded as "Make No Mistake, She's Mine" by Ronnie Milsap and Kenny Rogers in 1987. Both versions of the song charted.
