Kim Carnes (* 20. Juli 1945 in Pasadena, Kalifornien) ist eine US-amerikanische Sängerin und Songschreiberin. Die zweifache Grammy -Preisträgerin schrieb Songs für viele andere Künstler und hatte 1981 mit einer Coverversion von Bette Davis Eyes einen eigenen Welthit.
Duets opens with "We've Got Tonight", a hit 1983 single with Sheena Easton. Side two begins with another classic duet, " Don't Fall in Love with a Dreamer " with Kim Carnes from the 1980 album Gideon .
In her breakthrough year, 1980, Carnes was commissioned by Kenny Rogers to co-write the songs for his concept album Gideon (1980), and their duet "Don't Fall in Love with a Dreamer" hit No. 4 on the Billboard Hot 100, and earned the duo a Grammy Award nomination.
