Bill Kobren. On September 6, 2012, General Martin E. Dempsey, Chairman of the Joint Chiefs of Staff presided over the activation of the Dwight D. Eisenhower School for National Security and Resource Strategy as the successor to the venerable Industrial College of the Armed Forces (ICAF).
Dwight D. Eisenhower School for National Security and Resource Strategy. The Eisenhower School (ES) prepares select military officers and civilians for strategic leadership and success in developing national security strategy and in evaluating, marshaling, and managing resources in the execution of that strategy.
The Industrial College of the Armed Forces (now the Dwight D. Eisenhower School for National Security and Resource Strategy) and the National War College were the original two constituent colleges of the new institution. The Armed Forces Staff College (now the Joint Forces Staff College) was added to the university in 1981.
