Die Titel Earl of Hertford, Viscount Beauchamp of Hache und Baron Seymour of Trowbridge erloschen, die übrigen Titel fielen gemäß besonderer Erbregelungen an andere Verwandtschaftslinien.
Earl, wurde am 3. Juni 1640 zum Marquess of Hertford erhoben und am 13. September 1660 wurde ihm im Rahmen der Stuart-Restauration der 1552 seinem Urgroßvater aberkannte Titel 2. Duke of Somerset wiederhergestellt. Das Marquessat erlosch beim Tod seines jüngsten Sohnes, des 4. Dukes am 29. April 1675.
