Starting out as The Pips in 1952, derived from a cousin's nickname, the founding members were Gladys Knight, brother Merald Bubba Knight, sister Brenda Knight and cousins William and Eleanor Guest.

    Eleanor Guest was an original member of "Gladys Knight & The Pips." She was the daughter of John Guest and Margaret Mozelle. She passed away in 1997 at the age of 57.
