Zeena Parkins (born 1956) is an American composer and multi-instrumentalist active in experimental, free improvised, contemporary classical, and avant-jazz music; she is known for having "reinvented the harp". Parkins performs on standard harps, several custom electric harps, piano, and accordion.

15. Juni 2018 · After the Carbon Quintet "Void Coordinates" and the three CD box "The Age of Carbon" with legendary recordings of the 80s, a new Carbon album is now being released on Intakt Records: "Transmigration at the Solar Max" with Zeena Parkins and Bobby Previte.
Gerade erst hat er die neue CD „Void Coordinates“ mit Zeena Parkins, Marc Sloan, David Weinstein und Joe Trump veröffentlicht, da erscheint auf Intakt (Vertrieb: Harmonia Mundi) ein Boxset unter dem Titel „The Age Of Carbon“ mit Aufnahmen aus den Jahren 1984 bis 1991.
Er gründete seine Band Carbon 1983 und spielte mit Zeena Parkins, Eric Mingus, Vernon Reid, Joey Baron sowie David Torn. Weiterhin wirkte er an Einspielungen von Ned Rothenberg, Wayne Horvitz oder Jim Staley mit.
