King’s Scholarship Awards. Eton College has 70 King’s Scholars who board in College House under the care of the Master-in-College (the House Master), the Matron-in-College (the Dame) and pastoral team. Every boy has his own study-bedroom and, apart from a few minor differences, his life at Eton is very similar to that of boys in other Houses.

Eton blev grundlagt af Henrik 6. i 1440. Formålet var at give gratis uddannelse til 70 fattige adelige studenter, som skulle studere videre ved King's College i Cambridge, grundlagt af kongen året efter. Den første rektor og omkring halvdelen af den første stab blev overført fra William af Wykehams Winchester College, som var model for Eton.
One of Eton’s distinctive strengths, the College Collections include art and artefacts, manuscripts and archives, rare books and natural history specimens. Housed in three museums, galleries, a library and an archive, as well as in historic buildings across the College, the Collections range in date from prehistory to the present day and have been built up over nearly six centuries.
