Eva Colorni (1941–1985) was an Italian economist. Biography. Eva Colorni was born in Italy in 1941 to anti-fascist activists Eugenio Colorni and Ursula Hirschmann. Her father was a socialist philosopher, while her mother was a German-born economist that had fled Nazi Germany. Her father was killed by fascists during World War II.
EVA COLORNI MEMORIAL TRUST. The Eva Colorni Memorial Trust was formed in 1985 to commemorate the life of Eva Colorni, a valued friend and colleague. Eva, in addition to much else, taught Economics at City of London Polytechnic, now part of London Metropolitan University.

Er studierte sowohl in Kalkutta als auch in Cambridge, heiratete 1973 die Italienerin Eva Colorni, selbst aus einer sehr intellektuellen und einflussreichen Familie stammend, die dann aber bereits 1985 an Krebs starb. Beide haben zusammen zwei Kinder.

Eva Colorni was an economist whose work and passion were concerned with analysing and redressing inequality. After her untimely death in 1985 Amartya Sen established the Trust to commemorate Eva’s life and work and to reflect and further her belief in the possibility of social justice.
Eva Colorni – the former wife of the Nobel Prize winning economist Amartya Sen – died from cancer at the age of 44 in 1985. Since 1987, a number of Eva Colorni Memorial Lectures have been delivered at London Guildhall University, the institution where Eva Colorni once taught economics.
