On 1st September 2020, five new faculties started their operation: Faculty of Archaeology, Faculty of History, Faculty of Sociology, Faculty of Philosophy, and Faculty of Culture and Arts. As of 1st September 2022, the Faculty of Medicine was opened (the first students of medicine will begin the studies on 1st October 2023).
10. Apr. 2024 · The research conducted at the Faculty of Philosophy at the University of Warsaw covers all the most important fields of philosophy studied worldwide. Our researchers work in 16 departments and collaborate in 10 labs and centres. They carry out various research projects and cooperate with scholars and institutions from all over the World.

In 1957, a sociology section was established at the Faculty of Philosophy of the UW: students were again admitted, and a sociology department team was formed.

The Faculty of Sociology of the University of Warsaw is one of the leading sociological faculties in Poland. His position is reflected in the number of professors and doctors employed and their academic achievements, the attractiveness and high level of studies, the strong motivation and activeness of students and the careers of graduates.
