He and his colleagues have used extremely short laser pulses to observe electron movements in atoms, molecules and solids, with potential applications in electronics and biomedicine.
Prof. Krausz is a leading researcher in ultrashort-pulse laser technology, high-field physics, and attosecond physics. He is the director of several institutes and projects at LMU Munich and the Ludwig-Maximilians-Universität.
