Ferenc Krausz (* 17. Mai 1962 in Mór) ist ein ungarisch - österreichischer Physiker und Hochschullehrer. Mit seinem Forschungsteam gelang es ihm als Erstem, einen Lichtpuls von weniger als einer Femtosekunde Dauer sowohl zu erzeugen als auch zu messen.
Ferenc Krausz is a Director at the Max Planck Institute of Quantum Optics and a Professor of Experimental Physics at Ludwig Maximilian University of Munich. He received the Nobel Prize in Physics 2023 for his contributions to the theory and application of quantum optics and quantum information.
Prof. Dr. Ferenc Krausz ist der Direktor der Attosekundenphysik-Abteilung des Max-Planck-Instituts für Quantenoptik in Garching, Bayern. Er forscht über extreme Bedingungen von Materie und Licht, wie kälte Temperaturen, kürzesten Lichtpulse und kurzesten Lichtpulse, und ihre quantenmechanischen Phänomene.
