JARMAN, FRANCES ELEANOR, subsequently Ternan (1803?–1873), actress, the daughter of John Jarman and Maria Mottershed, whose acting name before her marriage was Errington, is said to have been born in Hull in February 1803.
She was the third of four children; she had a brother who died in infancy and two sisters named Maria and Frances (later the second wife of Thomas Adolphus Trollope, the brother of Anthony Trollope). Her parents, Thomas Lawless Ternan and Frances Eleanor Ternan (née Jarman), were both actors of some distinction.

Born Frances Eleanor Jarman around 1803; died in 1873; second wife of Thomas Adolphus Trollope (1810–1892, a novelist); daughter-in-law of Frances Milton Trollope (1779–1863). Frances Eleanor Ternan made her first stage appearance at Bath, England, in 1815. At Covent Garden in 1827–28, she appeared as Juliet to Charles Kemble 's Romeo.
