FREDDIE MARSDEN (1940 - 2006) Of all the successful Merseybeat musicians, Freddie Marsden was the most down-to-earth. He was a friendly, charming man who enjoyed his success in the '60s as the drummer with Gerry and the Pacemakers and then happily settled down to the routine of a daily job.
Drummer Freddie Marsden later opened the Pacemaker driving school in Formby after having previously worked for British Telecom during the 1980s. He died on 9 December 2006 in Southport, age 66.
