National Democratic Party of Germany. The National Democratic Party ( German: Nationaldemokratische Partei Deutschlands) is a far-right political party in Germany. It is usually just called the NPD . It was formed after the Deutsche Reichspartei dissolved in 1964. It is not the same as the old Hessian Nationaldemokratischen Partei.
The Free Democratic Party (FDP) is, historically, also one of the most significant political parties in Germany. Since 6 December 2013, the office has been held by Christian Lindner, who succeeded Philipp Rösler. The Leader of the Free Democratic Party is supported by a General Secretary who, since 19 September 2020, has been Volker Wissing.
The FDP remained dominant until the introduction of proportional representation in 1919. From 1945 to 1987, it alternated with the Social Democratic Party to be the largest party. In 1959, the party took two seats in the magic formula. The party declined in the 1990s and 2000s (decade), as it was put under pressure by the Swiss People's Party.

It had 52 representatives in the Volkskammer, as part of the National Front. The DBD participated in all GDR cabinets (with the exception of the last GDR cabinet).
