The album was recorded in Miami, Florida, by Evans, Molland, pianist and organist Tony Kaye (formerly of Yes), guitarist Glen Sherba and drummer Richard Bryans and was co-produced by Jack Richardson. Kaye had been invited to join the band by Evans after Airwaves , as the two had been friends.

A different line-up of Molland, Evans, Tony Kaye, Glenn Sherba and Richard Bryans issued Say No More in 1981 on the Radio label, the final new album to bear the Badfinger moniker. Two years later, Tom Evans also took his own life.
The bands line-up for the Say No More release consisted of Joey Molland on guitar, piano and vocals, Tom Evans on bass, guitars and vocals, Tony Kaye (YES) on keyboards, Glenn Sherba on guitar and Richard Bryans on drums. The album spawned the hit “Hold On” (#56 on Billboard’s Hot 100 Chart in 1981).
