Good Sam, good grief... Leo McCarey attempts to make It's A Wonderful Life, but it doesn't work, it really doesn't, Capra could have sued. This may have worked as a satire of Capra-corn and at times it seems to be trying to be, but McCarey (whose later films all spread on the schmaltz far too thickly) was the wrong man to do it.
