Gordon Eastcott Payne (* 16. Oktober 1890 in Paynes Mills, Southwold, Ontario, Kanada; † 17. Mai 1983 in Halifax, Nova Scotia, Kanada) war ein kanadischer Maler und Gebrauchsgrafiker. Er malte vornehmlich Landschaften und arbeitete mit Öl- und Aquarellfarben .
Gordon spent his last ten years in music from 1985 to 1994, as lead singer-guitarist with his pals J.I. Allison and Joe B. Mauldin of The Crickets. With his wife Pat and sons Jackson and Coleman at home, the road began to take its toll.
Gordon Payne is Waylon Jennings’ right-hand man as a guitarist, singer and harmonica player, and now he is a solo artist in his own right. There is nothing operatic about Gordon’s debut A&M album, but he sure knows how to deliver his Oklahoma born-and-bred rhythm & blues.

2. Sept. 2022 · Gordon Payne’s time as a musician was spent largely as a sideman. He recorded one solo album, 1978’s ‘Gordon Payne’ which was featured in Americana UK’s Lost Album series, which showed he had the instrumental, singing, and songwriting skills to develop a solo career.
