For the first academic year, the new Gordonstoun School had just two pupils, with Hahn expecting the venture to run for only a few years as a vindication of his educational methods. The arrival of a third pupil changed his fortune.
Rund 500 Internatsschüler*innen werden in Gordonstoun ausgebildet: 90% der Schüler*innen sind Bewohner des Internats, 35% stammen aus internationalen Herkunftsländern. Die Ausrichtung folgt einem der Reformpädagogik ähnlichen Ansatz, mit Schwerpunkten in kreativer Kunst, Musik und Tanz.
