Green Eyed Soul is the fifth studio album to be released by Lari White, and the first to be released on her own Skinny White Girl label. White began working on the songs for "Green Eyed Soul" while still signed as a country artist on Lyric Street Records.

After the film, she placed her musical career on hiatus. She returned in 2004 with the self-released album Green Eyed Soul. Unlike her previous albums, this one focused more on rhythm and blues and soul music; she chose to do so because she felt at the time that she "wasn't fitting into the format" of country music radio.
