Gregory Michael Sowders (born March 17, 1960) is an American drummer and music publisher. [1] [4] He is a founding member of alternative country and Paisley Underground band the Long Ryders , [3] and Senior Vice President and Head of A&R at Warner Chappell Music in the United States.
The band’s three founding members Sid Griffin, Stephen McCarthy and Greg Sowders continue to tour the world and and on March 10th, 2023 release the long awaited follow up to their widely acclaimed #1 UK Americana album, Psychedelic Country Soul.

Recording sessions for the band's next studio album took place during summer 2022, followed by a six-date US tour in November. On these dates, the band was augmented by touring bassist Murry Hammond of Old 97's.

Sept. 2019 · The band started with guitarist/singer/songwriter/leader Sid Griffin, drummer Greg Sowders and guitarist Steve Wynn, who soon left to devote himself to his own band, The Dream Syndicate. Stephen McCarthy took over on lead and steel guitars, adding terrific, country-flavored songs and vocals.
