Grey Owl (* 18. September 1888 in Hastings, England; † 13. April 1938 am Ajawaan-Lake), bürgerlicher Name Archibald (Archie) Stansfeld Belaney, in Deutschland als Wäscha-kwonnesin, seltener als Grau-Eule bekannt, war ein englischstämmiger Trapper und Schriftsteller.
Grey Owl ist ein dramatisierter biografischer Film über den gleichnamigen englischstämmigen Trapper, den Richard Attenborough 1999 mit Pierce Brosnan in der Titelrolle inszenierte. Grey Owl. Archibald Stansfeld Belaney (September 18, 1888 – April 13, 1938), commonly known as Grey Owl, was a popular writer, public speaker and conservationist. Born an Englishman, in the latter years of his life he passed as half-Indian, claiming he was the son of a Scottish man and an Apache woman.
Ändern. Archie Grey Owl is a trapper in Canada in the early 1930s when a young Iroquois woman from town asks him to teach her Indian ways. They live in the woods, where she is appalled at how trapped animals die. She adopts two orphaned beaver kits and helps Archie see his way to stop trapping.
