Gustavianum is the oldest standing building of Uppsala University. It was built between 1622 and 1625, and was used as the main building of the university between 1778 and 1887. Since 1997, it has been used as the university's museum.

9. Apr. 2024 · Gustavianum, Uppsala University Museum, houses the university's magnificent historical collections. Since its establishment in 1997, our mission has been to make the collections accessible to the public and to serve as a place of collaboration between the university and the surrounding community.
Gustavianum is closed for renovation but Uppsala University Museum’s other activities continue as usual. The renovation is estimated to be complete spring 2024. COLLECTIONS: Uppsala University Art Collections. Uppsala University Coin Cabinet

Apr. 2024 · In the new Gustavianum, the collections are presented in a series of new exhibitions: The Anatomical Theatre, The University Art Collection, The Mediterranean Sea and the Nile Valley, Coin Collection, The University's History and the History of Science and The dawn of the Viking Age.
9. Apr. 2024 · Gustavianum is Uppsala University's oldest preserved building. Built in the 1620s it housed lecture halls, libraries, student housing and student kitchens.
Gustavianum, Uppsala University Museum, looks after many unique and fragile objects – Egyptian mummies, Roman and Greek collections, archaeological finds from the Viking period, works of art, the famous Augsburg Art Cabinet, scientific instruments from various eras – and much more.
