Vor 5 Tagen · Hadja Lahbib was a surprise appointment as Belgium’s Foreign Minister in 2022: a former news anchor, never elected to public office, she is the daughter of Algerian immigrants who grew up in Belgium’s coal-mining country. Yet Lahbib says her outsider status is an asset, helping her bring a fresh perspective to the job of representing Belgium abroad.

15. Juli 2022 · Hadja Lahbib wurde in Boussu, im ehemaligen Steinkohlerevier Borinage, geboren. Sie hat einen Abschluss in Journalismus und Kommunikation von der Université Libre de Bruxelles (ULB) und hat jahrelang für den französischsprachigen öffentlichen Rundfunk RTBF als Journalistin und Reporterin gearbeitet.

Hadja Lahbib, née le 21 juin 1970 à Boussu, est une journaliste et femme politique belge, membre du Mouvement réformateur (MR). Elle est ministre fédérale des Affaires étrangères, des Affaires européennes et du Commerce extérieur , et des Institutions culturelles fédérales depuis le 15 juillet 2022 .

Die 52-Jährige folgt auf die MR-Politikerin Sophie Wilmès, die ihren Austritt aus der Regierung bekannt gegeben hatte. Ihre Ernennung ist eine Überraschung.
