Hal Hays LeSueur (3 September 1901/1903 – 3 May 1963) [1] [3] [4] [2] was an American actor and the brother of American actress, Joan Crawford . Background. Hal LeSueur was born on 3 September 1903 at 326 Rivas Street, [5] San Antonio, Texas, the first child of Thomas E. LeSueur (died 1938) and Anna Bell Johnson (died 1958).
Hal LeSueur was Joan Crawford's brother, but they were not close and had a strained communication. He died of a ruptured appendix in 1954, and Crawford allegedly did not attend his funeral or visit him in the hospital.
Crawford's mother was likely under 20 when her first two children were born. Crawford had one sister, Daisy, and one brother, Hal LeSueur. Thomas LeSueur abandoned the family when Lucille was ten months old, eventually resettling in Abilene, Texas, reportedly working in construction.
