Juli 2015 · The performance is very Malcolm Sargent and is markedly different from more modern recordings which tend to use "period instruments" and smaller forces, however, I think Handel would have opted for the more powerful modern instruments and larger forces if they had been available to him at the time. As it was he was criticized for too large a choir and orchestra at the time.
