Self-portrait with her Son Hans, 1914-1916. The uniform her elder son Hans is wearing and the caption »on leave« suggest that this work can be dated back to the first few war years. The artist used an existing self-portrait and complemented it in a smaller image section with a portrait of Hans on leave from the front.
