Happy-Go-Lucky Local is a sec tion from Duke’s extended w ort; Deep South Suite. Duke loved trains, and w rote a piece in the thirties called Daybreak Express. This one depicts a train moving along in the south. In 1943, Duke commissioned Mary Lou Williams to arrange living Berlin's Blue Skies. By 1946, it became a vehicle to showcase the
Al Hibbler. Albert George Hibbler (August 16, 1915 – April 24, 2001) was an American baritone vocalist, who sang with Duke Ellington 's orchestra before having several pop hits as a solo artist. Some of Hibbler's singing is classified as rhythm and blues, but he is best seen as a bridge between R&B and traditional pop music. [1]
