He and his band appeared in three Hollywood films: Private Buckaroo and Springtime in the Rockies (both 1942), and Two Girls and a Sailor (1944). James toured with the band into the 1980s, and as of July 2018 the Harry James Orchestra, led by Fred Radke, was still very much in business.

19. März 2024 · This album reprised many of his band’s mid-40s hits from a time when Harry James was appearing in the movie The Benny Goodman Story. It’s anything but a heavy-duty jazz date but there is still much to enjoy – although the less said about Ciribiribin the better. The All Music Guide To Jazz gave the album two stars.
Harry James and His Orchestra 1948–49 is a double album by American trumpeter Harry James with The Harry James Orchestra. The album consists of live radio transcripts recorded during 1948 and 1949 and was released in 1969 by Big Band Landmarks (Volumes X–XI).
