Hawkins was an institution of the Ontario music scene for over 40 years. He was highly influential in the establishment and evolution of rock music in Canada. [2] Also known as "Rompin' Ronnie", "Mr. Dynamo" or "The Hawk", he was one of the key players in the 1960s rock scene in Toronto.
Ronald Cornett Hawkins (* 10. Januar 1935 in Huntsville, Arkansas; † 29. Mai 2022 in Toronto, Ontario [1]) war ein US-amerikanischer Sänger . Er war Begleitmusiker von Carl Perkins und Conway Twitty sowie Bandleader von Ronnie Hawkins and the Hawks, deren Mitglieder sich 1963 unter dem Namen The Band selbständig machten.
