  1. Claude-Henri de Rouvroy, Comte de Saint-Simon was born in Paris, October 17, 1760. A philosopher and social reformer belonging to a French aristocratic family, he is a distant cousin of Louis de Rouvroy, Duc de Saint-Simon, famous for his memoirs on the reign of Louis XIV. Between 1779 and 1783, he served with Lafayette in the American Revolution.
