Mai 1659 in der Peerage of England Henry Stuart, der Sohn von König Karl I., erhielt. Zusammen mit dem Dukedom wurde ihm der nachgeordnete Titel Earl of Cambridge verliehen. Doch Henry starb bereits am 13. September 1660 unverheiratet und kinderlos, sodass die Titel erneut erloschen.
Prince Henry died on 10 June 1974 at the age of 74. He was the last surviving child of King George V and Queen Mary. He was buried in the Royal Burial Ground at Frogmore. His second son, Prince Richard, inherited the title of Duke of Gloucester.
