Sir Henry Herbert Juta (12 August 1857 – 16 May 1930) was a South African judge who served as Speaker of the Cape House of Assembly, Judge President of the Cape Provincial Division and judge of the South African Appellate Division.

Sir Henry Juta, Judge President of the Cape from 1914 and Judge of Appeal prior to his retirement. appointed by President Paul Kruger as Johannesburg’s first criminal magistrate (at the age of 19). He rose to become Chief Magistrate of Johannesburg and was a founder of the Rand Club.
He married his wife Louise Juta on 5 June 1853 in a civil ceremony in Trier, Germany. Jan Carel and Louise had seven children, including the future Sir Henry Juta QC, a barrister and senior Judge in the South African courts, who also served as Speaker of the Parliament of Cape Colony. Juta died on 7 April 1886 in Chiswick, London.

Life. Louise Marx was the sixth child of Heinrich Marx, a lawyer, and Henriette Pressburg, of Trier in the Prussian Rhineland.
