Guitarist Huey Davis (who was pictured on the Do You Love Me album cover, but was not an official member of the Contours although he was pictured in virtually all of Motown's publicity shots of the group) died on February 23, 2002, at his home in Detroit.

Guitarist Huey Davis joins the Contours as their musical director. Motown legend has it that the Contours enter Hitsville following a record hop in June 1962 to find Berry Gordy at the studio piano. He asks the group if they know where the Temptations are, that he has a song for them.
