Hugh Leslie Gibb (15 January 1916 – 6 March 1992) was an English drummer, bandleader and the father of musicians Barry, Robin, Maurice and Andy Gibb. Barry, Robin and Maurice would go on to form the Bee Gees, one of the most successful musical groups of all time, while Andy would have several hits as a solo performer.
The Bee Gees were a musical group formed in 1958 by brothers Barry, Robin, and Maurice Gibb. The trio were especially successful in popular music in the late 1960s and early 1970s, and later as prominent performers in the disco music era in the mid-to-late 1970s.

Hugh Gibb, Jr. was a working musician who formed his own band and played drums in night clubs and hotels. He met his wife Barbara Pass and had three children, including Hugh Gibb, the eldest of the Bee Gees. He helped his sons write and perform music as young boys and became their manager when they moved to Australia.
