  4. 9. Nov. 2018 · Hugh McDowell, a founding member of the symphonic rock band ELO and the glam rock group Wizzard, has died at age 65 from cancer. He played with various groups and classical music ensembles, and created the music composition program Fractal Music Composer.

  5. Roy Wood verließ die Band im Sommer 1972 kurz nach Erscheinen des ersten Albums und gründete Wizzard, bei der auch der Hornist Bill Hunt und der Cellist Hugh McDowell mitwirkten. Daraufhin übernahm Jeff Lynne die alleinige Leitung der Band.
