After a motorcycle accident resulting from an untimely sneeze, TV and radio personality Victor Lewis-Smith has been deposited in a BBC-owned hospital that serves as a dumping ground for burnt-out broadcasters, scriptwriters, and other unwanted TV people.
Victor's alter ego phones Michael Winner to tell him of the death of the Queen Mother. After the credits, Victor finally wakes up from his comic coma, and starts to devise a plan to escape the hospital along with the other patients.
