Józef Antoni Poniatowski (alte Schreibweise oft auch Poniatowsky; * 7. Mai 1763 in Wien; † 19. Denkmals zu Ehren des Fürsten Józef Antoni Poniatowski (1763-1813). Der polnische Nationalheld Fürst Józef Antoni Poniatowski (1763 bis 1813) war der Neffe des letzten polnischen Königs Stanislaus II. August und starb während der Völkerschlacht in Leipzig.
Am 16. Oktober 1813 wurde Poniatowski durch Napoleon zum Marschall von Frankreich ernannt. Nach der verlorenen Völkerschlacht bei Schlacht Leipzig wurde Poniatowski Befehlshaber der Nachhut und deckte den Rückzug Napoleons. Durch die vorzeitige Sprengung der Brücke über den Elstermühlgraben war ihm selbst der Rückweg abgeschnitten.
