His ambivalence is tied to being considered a war hero, while actually having given up the resistence under torture. His meddling puts him and his wife (Françoise Brion) in imminent danger. Directed and written by Jacques Doniol-Valcroze. Noirish story mixed with war guilt and a bit of sleaze. Maurice Ronet is excellent in the role.
