James Moody (* 26. März 1925 in Savannah, Georgia; † 9. Dezember 2010 in San Diego, Kalifornien) war ein US-amerikanischer Jazzmusiker (Tenor- und gelegentlich Altsaxophon, Flöte, Gesang), Komponist und Bandleader. Er war einer der ersten Tenorsaxophonisten, die Bebop spielten, und galt als wichtige „Institution im Jazz“ (Scott Yanow).
James Moody (March 26, 1925 [1] – December 9, 2010) [2] was an American jazz saxophone and flute player and very occasional vocalist, playing predominantly in the bebop and hard bop styles. The annual James Moody Jazz Festival is held in Newark, New Jersey .
