Janice Karman Bagdasarian is an American actress, singer, producer, writer, and director. She is the co-owner of Bagdasarian Productions with her husband Ross Bagdasarian Jr. Early life. Karman was born in Los Angeles, California. Her father was psychologist Harvey Leroy Karman (born Harvey Walters).
Janice Karman is the daughter of Ross Bagdasarian, the creator of Alvin and the Chipmunks. She has worked on various Chipmunks projects as a writer, producer and actress since 1983.
